Belarus – Really? A US Citizen?

CNN runs a story about a US citizen supposedly abducted in Belarus and the story goes on to state this person may have been involved with a plot to assassinate the Belarus President. The depth of the story doesn’t tell the whole truth.

The article states the Belarus authorities hinted the man was with the CIA. So – my first question – why is he a dual citizen? – The article provides that he was a political activist and in 2011 he was granted political asylum in the US – then in 2017 he became a US citizen. But it also mentions that he ran for elections in Belarus in 2016!

The article says he was a Lawyer – the article quotes his wife in saying they were in Moscow at the time (looking for property) when footage of her husband was taken at a restaurant where he was supposedly abducted when he walked out – And yet – the article then states – “And his wife has no idea when she will be able to talk to him, let alone see him. The last time they spoke was on April 11, when he called her at home in Houston to wish her goodnight, hours before setting out for that fateful lunch date with Alexander Feduta.

“How can she be with her husband in Russia looking for property – and also be in Houston?

Okay – so another question – what did this guy do – in order to get US Citizenship?

According to immigration laws: To become a lawful permanent resident of the United States, one must obtain a Green Card . Most immigrants will do so through employment , through family sponsorship , or by being an immediate relative of a US citizen, the latter being most common among Russian immigrants.

Additional questions that were not answered and should be:

? What company sponsored him so he could become a Citizen?

? Was this the US Govt and did he really work for the CIA?

? Why would the US not revoke his Citizenship – when he ran for political office in a foreign country?

? Why would a “known political dissident” be given a US citizenship anyway?

? Why should the US Govt spend any money or time on this situation which is obviously political activity in a foreign country?

? What is Russia doing about this – since he was supposedly abducted while in Russia?
