If you give away money – people will take it!

Unemployment filing went up! – Of course all those working for the holiday season are not needed. Companies who lost money last year are going to lay off – BUT:If you are making under $20,000 per year working (which many people are) – then let your company fire you – then you file unemployment.

The national average for unemployment benefits is $320 (Not many make that much – in Louisiana, one of the lowest unemployment payment states – it is about 1/25 of your past 4 quarters. That works out to about $125 per week for the average unemployed person. Add in the new Federal payment of $300 per week – and the unemployed person can get over $1,700 per month – and they also receive SNAP (Pays for food and basics), Many get other benefits as well.

So – why would anyone want to work for $12.00 per hour – which equates to: $12.00 x 40 x 52 = $24,960 per year with no vacation – Take out Federal fees of about 5.2% (Health, SS, etc) it equals about $1,972 per month.Just a couple hundred dollars more than NOT WORKING.

There is a reason for unemployment – when economies change and people lose their job – it is to tide them over until they find another job. The question: How many people are using unemployment as an alternative to working? How many – they are all on the computer – (And I’m sure voting roles) – so how many?

Don’t we all have a right to know who is spending our tax dollars?
