How many people on unemployment are looking for work?

How many people on unemployment and were paid an extra $600 per week – were looking for work?(Let’s not forget that California paid about $1 Billion in extra unemployment payments to people actually in Prison!) While it is good to support those who lost their jobs – isn’t that what unemployment is in the first place – why should it be subsidized? If people are provided a stimulus check – won’t that help spur the economy? Which is the only way new job openings are going to happen. Then those who want to work can possibly find work.

For those who have reasons for not working (Health or Family) – then we need to ask – is this a Right of citizenship it the US? – To stop working if health issues occur, or if children or elderly need to be cared for instead of working?

Isn’t this what we have programs for? – Disability, Social Security, Home Care Giver insurance, etc. I don’t understand how giving people extra money is going to motivate eligible workers to go out and find work? If not “able to work” – there are other programs.

It would seem – PPE, Stimulus, SBA Loans, and other programs are keeping businesses viable – and thus, keeping many people employed. So – why should there be extra? (Above and beyond the normal unemployment programs that have existed for decades – to help people who lose their jobs and bide them over until they find a new job.

Seriously folks? (note: Now if I were unemployed and receiving unemployment benefits – I surely would like to get extra money – for as long as it was available!
