The politics have started with the potential vaccines – even before announcements by Moderna & Pfizer were made – Some states were already saying they wanted their own reviews of the vaccines before distribution within their state. Why? – Because the FDA is under the Executive Branch – and Governors such as Cuomo in NY are being political in the media by saying “We don’t trust the Federal Government because of influence by the White House” (Similar comments from CA, MI, CO, OR) – Heavily anti-Trump states.https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/some-states-plan-vet-covid-19-vaccines-themselves-bad-idea-n1242355

Does anyone really think the FDA would push something that would harm people? This is where common sense takes over and the FDA will ensure public safety. Even the companies who are producing the vaccines – do they really want to have problems? Anything goes wrong any they might as well close the front door! (ie. shut down)

Note: The Fed Govt has authorized $10.25 Billion for Covid-19 Testing – but the States have only used $2.5 billion of the amount. States may say they want to be in control – but can they deliver?
Where does this leave us? – Not in creating the vaccine – but in distribution so every citizen who wants the vaccine may have access (and for free!) And, information promotion to all citizens who are anti-vaccine – educating them on why it is good to protect other citizens.

Note: I don’t know about the ethics of others – but if I were to catch Covid-19 – I know that I’d be a bit pissed off at the person who gave it to me (If I knew who it was) – and I’d be disastrously guilty if I were go give the virus to someone else!

This is where we as a country need to make a decision – do we want Federal Control – or State’s Rights for control? The Health System is a large Budget item and there are many companies, lobbyists, and politicians who benefit from control over State health systems.
There has been a Democratic push for a Federal Health System – a more “Socialized Health System” – which has been shown to not work too well in large countries (Canada, Australia, England, there are 32 countries with Universal Health Care – but the last country to move towards Universal Health was Israel in 1995 – a quarter century ago!)
Our present situation does not mean there needs to be a Universal Health care system in the US – but there needs to be some coordination between the White House (National Institute of Health) – and States for delivery systems.

The discussion includes how some segments of US Society are underserved by the US Health System. This is due to State systems – and no Federal oversight for distribution systems.

I’ll be getting the vaccine when available – Most likely either at my Primary Care Doctors office, or my local CVS! I can only hope everyone around me makes a decision on the value of a vaccine and doesn’t share any viruses with me! – And, I hope everyone will have access to get the vaccine. (Everyone, including those who don’t regularly participate in societal activities – such as indignant, transitory, and “Ignorant” folks who have a lifestyle that doesn’t include doctors or pharmacies.)
