Learning about virus vaccines!

I may be a PhD – but I’m no MD and have no clue about how the body works when it comes to vaccines and viruses.

So – reading this article helped me learn a bit more. It seems that our Medical Field (Specifically virology and Infectious Diseases) is still in its infancy. With today’s technology medical science has come a long way – yet it still takes months to years in figuring out how to combat the smallest living organisms on our planet.

Of course, covid-19 as a pandemic would not exist had virology scientists not gone looking for it. Seems in early 2000 virologists were doing (anal swabs) of horseshoe bats in China and learned of a corona type virus. Hmmm? Maybe leave those bats alone? (Both for science and for food!)

And, the US was no prepared as much as they thought – since in 1995 pandemic plans were being made.

Oh and just an FYI – seems that pandemic type corona viruses were being studied at the same time (2005) as studies in development of mRNA – synthetic vaccines – just ask Pfizer and Moderna – this will be their announcement for covid-19 vaccination.
