Are there as many Doctors as Lawyers? – More Covid-19 talk – Oct 11, 2020

So many doctors and many opinions about SARS virus (Covid-19 is a SARS virus)

The media is able to take various opinions – many from “ex” officials (I always wonder why they are “ex”)

A former health policy advisor for Obama is saying how inside gatherings are causing the most problems – basically saying restaurants should close, and people should not gather (Shopping, Church, Schools, etc) They state that 20 is better than 50 – of course in my education I learned that “0” is better than 20?

Even if every single person – essential as well as non-essential – stayed home for 2 weeks – the virus would not be gone completely.

There is concern for Northern States with colder climate where people will stay indoors. (Guess they should stay indoors alone – not in groups?)

Still I look at the map of virus totals – and other than NY area – it looks like the largest numbers of people with the virus are located throughout the Southern area (where it is warm not cold?) – Is this due to poor social distancing? – Or some other reason? – I’m sure the media will blame someone. (Just like the weather channel staff going “too” hurricanes, while the government has required citizens to evacuate?)

Look at the map – it doesn’t jive with cold weather theory – https://www.yahoo.com/…/zeke-emanuel-on-covid-its-scary-its…

Of course the virus is going to continue until a human resistance is built up (It didn’t kill the mammal bats did it?) – Or, there will be a vaccine that helps build immunity.

I do think the most vulnerable part of our society (64 and older who have health issues, such as those taking ACE inhibitors) – should protect themselves. This means staying away from Children and Grandchildren who may easily catch the virus – but not suffer with more than a cold or flu symptoms.

To tell young people they can’t have a life – to protect elderly and unhealthy – is a difficult decision. Especially when it means complete economic crash and future suffering by everyone.

Maybe mandatory isolation for unhealthy and elderly is the answer? But how do you force people to stay home? – It requires self-discipline – which many Americans do not have. The USA is proud of individual rights – and one such right is a freedom of association. Taking away this right – what is taken away next?

Times are different – during the 1918, 1957 an 1968 pandemics – there was no government funding support, but then maybe that is why millions died? And, the antigens for these prior pandemics was different from the present SARS pandemic. Which is why prior pandemics were deadly to young children, and todays virus is not.

Oh, and if anyone wants to know – the 1968 pandemic (which started in China) had rapid dissemination in the United States – but some countries it was not as bad- such as Japan. Similar to what is happening today with Covid-19.
