Voices heard – but at what cost to the Community? Oct 4, 2020

I hope we can all agree – following the rules allows for a peaceful presentation for points of view! That is what NFAC did on Saturday (While I disagree with much of the lewd language used, it was good to hear people speak their mind about individual rights)

Of course we have to realize the National Media ignored the situation – why? – Because it did not “instigate hatred” – that is what the media wants – look at the “news” about Trump. Why can’t reporters just ask: “Is the President okay” – the response would be “Yes” – and leave it at that? Why create hatred and chaos where there should be none?

I commend the NFAC and John Fitzgerald Johnson (Please clean up your language!) – on a good presentation and entertaining parade of people with a voice to be heard.

Another indicator of how the media manipulates – even the Advertiser – (the paper sent to Lafayette by Gannet to represent “our” community paper) – had to talk about Louisville marches of NFAC in order to integrate agenda. The Peaceful and very informative marching parade and speeches in Lafayette was not going to garner the attention of today’s “news agenda” – when it should have been a top story.

Look at what the Advertiser did – showing pictures of Louisville to enhance the story…

I commend the City of Lafayette to allowing the parade to take place – we all have rights and if people want to follow the rules – they may display and openly present their points of view.

My concern is the city costs for the event may have eaten into the $1mil provided to the city following recent incidents in our community – the money was to be used for police training and learning – and this weekends event definitely counts as learning – but might have used up a good portion of the budget?
