Thinking about going to the NFAC Parade this Saturday – if going don’t forget to bring your American & Acadiana Flags and wave to the parade participants!
According to Lafayette Consolidated Government, the NFAC plans to hold its march at Parc Sans Souci Saturday at 4 p.m.
It is so nice of the group to travel here and provide some outdoor entertainment during this pandemic year where we have lost most of our THE – “Travel, Hospitality & Events” Even NYC’s Columbus Day Parade was canceled due to the pandemic, not to mention this year’s Lafayette Sonic Christmas Parade has been canceled.
I remember back in March 12th – we had 6 newly confirmed cases of Covid-19, and the Sun Belt canceled the rest of their season, Downtown Alive was canceled (The Kick Off was to be at Parc Sans Souci). KISS concert, Monster Truck Tour, Celtic Bayou Festival, all events at Lafayette Libraries, and all events at Lafayette Parish parks.
It is good to know that even with Phase III and there are an estimated 1,425 current cases, 553 patients in hospitals, in which 79 are on ventilators – all from Covid-19….. That an out of town group is able to travel to Lafayette and parade through our beautiful city.
And what a day it will be – sunny and 80. A great time to get out of the house and enjoy a parade.
