National Media Nonsense – Sept 4

While reading some of the wonderfully fun nonsense the National media is putting out – I decided to read what the first US President had to say when he decided to not run for office and finally retire. – Washington’s Farewell Address – it really is good reading.

This statement caused me to shudder as so many people in our country disregard the virtues of our Liberty and the values our country was founded upon. (Note: When Washington became President, the only people who could vote were male land owners.) We have changed our constitution to provide the right for voting to all individuals – except those who do not respect our laws.

From George Washington: “But the Constitution which at any time exists, till changed by an explicit and authentic act of the whole people, is sacredly obligatory upon all. The very idea of the power and the right of the people to establish Government presupposes the duty of every individual to obey the established Government.”

You may not like your elected officials (Local, State, other States, and Federal) – but they are duly elected according to our laws. You should respect and obey them. This includes all agents of government duly sworn to uphold the laws.

Until they change due to the power of voting – not through violence, or bully or false tactics in the media!
